BIOLAB’s core business is to produce prescription medicines in cardiology, rheumatology, orthopedics, general practice, pediatrics, endocrinology, geriatrics and dermatology. Following a global trend, we are massively investing in dermocosmetics, developing products to meet the requirements of the country’s different weather characteristics, the different types of skin, and the use of natural resources from our biodiversity.  

BIOLAB is a leader in cardiovascular product prescriptions and ranks 8th in prescription drug sales. Through the continuous and diligent work of our 2 thousand employees and health professionals,we offer a portfolio of more than a 100 products. 

BIOLAB carries in its DNA the vocation for research, as a fundamental way for the development of new products and technologies. Since the company was founded, investment in research has allowed the launch of four exclusive products. Each year, 7% of our revenue is invested in research, which consolidates Biolab as the top research investor in its industry in Brazil.

Our vision has led the company to create our own RD&I Center, which is heading into the future. We have invested more than US$30 m in the construction of a new RD&I Center in Jandira – São Paulo Estate and opened an exclusive area for nanotechnology production, in our plant of Taboão da Serra – São Paulo Estate.

Our research activities are carried out in two important fronts: The internal front, through our RD&I Center, and the Open Innovation, involving partnerships with other research centers, universities, suppliers, government agencies and other pharmaceutical industries. The outcome of this investment is proven by our pipeline of 9 granted patents and 122 deposited. Among our partnerships with multinational companies, we can highlight the one which started 10 years ago, with the German laboratory Merz, as a result of both vocations for innovation:

Among the products we have launched together over that period, we can highlight Contractubex, a benchmark and leader in the treatment and prevention of unaesthetic scars and Pantogar, top leader in the treatment and prevention of hair loss.

When it comes to social responsibility, out social efforts have benefitted, in the past 13 years, approximately 100 thousand people, totaling more than US$ 6million dollars invested in health, culture, environment and sports. We are among the four national pharmaceutical companies which most invest in social responsibility, and are the first pharmaceutical company in Brazil to approve an exclusive project to incentive sports.
