Largest pet fair shows new developments in the Brazilian market

Published in August 27th, 2025

The month of August may be dedicated to dogs, but it is also the date chosen each year for Pet South America, the largest trade fair in the pet sector. Take a look at the hot products

Pet South America, the largest trade fair in the industry, took place between August 13 and 15 pet of Latin America. This year at Anhembi, there was more space to exhibit different products in different segments.

I have to confess that this post will be absolutely biased. For two clear reasons: 1) I wasn't able to visit the whole fair, so I can't say that I saw absolutely everything that was new; 2) I'm only going to talk about products that help with well-being. There were launches that were exactly the opposite: going against the natural behaviors and basic needs of dogs and puppies. cats (mainly cats).

Now that you know about my look, let's get to the products!

Dragon food

With the aim of renewing protein production and reducing inequality, a startup is betting on black fly larvae as an innovative source for pets. These are low-cost snacks and supplements based on a hypoallergenic protein that doesn't compete with human food. It may not be as palatable as a good beef steak, but its crunchiness and distinctive anatomy attract the attention of cats and dogs.

Pet Games

A brand that I'm a super fan of, Brazilian, with years of dedication to the pet welfare market, always manages to make a difference. This time with Pirutidog, a different kind of teether that requires dynamism for the dog to be able to hold and chew. It also brought coffee wood as another teether option, in various sizes.

Natural sachet

Another brand that has been guaranteed in all of Pet South America for years is Pet Delícia. With its cans full of complete and balanced treats for dogs and cats. What's new are the meat and chicken sachets, for both dogs and cats. "It's not a complete diet, but a topping to give a taste of the food," explains Natália Vieira, marketing director. The more pasty consistency has guaranteed approval here at home.

Supplementation and single-protein feeding

The pet farm is gaining market share year on year, but the novelty is natural, vacuum-packed recipes, with the possibility of diets for the most sensitive dogs. However, with advances in microbiome research, pro- and prebiotics are gaining momentum. As is the case with the brand's launch, with supplements for the skin, coat and intestines. I confess that I got a sample, but haven't had time to test it yet. But it's a very promising proposal.

Probiotic with Tryptophan

And speaking of probiotics, the Mundo Animal brand already has a vast catalog of products and supplements that help with pet health. But what caught my eye was the combination of the probiotic with supplements that help with well-being, such as tryptophan and valerian. Although the quantity is too low to really cause any improvement in well-being, we can see a concern to offer options that help pet owners understand and treat their pet.

Pasty food for cats

The big rush of products was for pasty snacks for cats. After Churu, by Inaba, arrived in Brazil and disappeared for a few months, it opened doors for several other brands. But not all of them are the same. Most are made in Asia and still use chicken protein in almost all of their formulations. Few brands are truly single-protein, as is the case with Churu. In fact, the Japanese brand arrived at the fair with its launch for dogs, which had been expected by the market for some time, since the product is quite common in other countries.

Popcorn snack

I confess that the different models of snacks caught my eye. Especially for cats. Steaks, highly popular and desired by dogs, may not be so appealing to cats. With a more demanding palate, you also have to innovate in the way you present the delicacy. The possibility of having "popcorn" salmon snacks (a unique protein) caught my attention. I haven't been able to test it yet, but the Pet Nutrition will only hit the market in October. But here's my tip for a promising product for geckos who love novelty.

Hello Kit Collection

Wow Petiscos manages to innovate every year with collections aimed at the well-being of pets and pleasing human eyes. This year, the Hello Kit theme won hearts. Not just new packaging, but new products. There were also popcorn-shaped snacks, but new and unique proteins, such as duck. The different sizes for cats and dogs was what caught my eye. It may seem silly, but for those who have cats, being able to offer a smaller snack makes a big difference. And I confess that I use cat treats to train dogs too. It lasts longer.

Tutor + Pet pendant

Does your pet have identification? My Family is an Italian company that provides security through pet ID tags. They have QRcode tags, engraved tags and all kinds of other technology. But what caught my eye this year was a collection of tags for pets and pendants for their guardians. It's like a two-in-one heart, in which the inner part stays with the pet on the collar and the outer part stays on the guardian's necklace. Once the pet dies, the guardian can join the two parts together and have their pet close to their chest. I thought it was very cute and delicate!

Fear Free Brasil

The news I'd been waiting for has arrived. Dr. Marty Becker, an American veterinarian, specialist in human-animal interaction and founder of the Fear Free institution, which promotes the emotional well-being of pets, gave a series of lectures throughout the event, both in themed rooms, such as Family Veterinarian, Geriatrics, Pet Behavior and Nutrition (ANMV), and at the PremieRpet stand, as well as taking part in an exclusive panel. His presence marks yet another initiative in the partnership between PremieRpet and Fear Free, of which the company has been the exclusive pet food ambassador in Brazil since 2024, reinforcing its commitment to animal welfare and the training of professionals.

"Bringing Dr. Marty Becker is a great privilege. He is one of the main references in the Fear Free concept and his presence reinforces our commitment to offering high-level scientific content, as well as promoting practices that make veterinary care more welcoming and safer for pets," says Ana Duprat, PremieRpet's Head of Strategic Partnerships.
