Understand the importance of nasal hydration

Published in October 05, 2024

Dust, low humidity, animal hair... There are many factors that can irritate the inner walls of the nose. Even the slightest contact with some of these can lead to inflammation, marked by swelling of the mucous membranes and excessive phlegm production.

The nose is the main gateway to the air we breathe and is also responsible for defending the airways. This means that if it malfunctions, the chances of infection by viruses or bacteria increase, causing problems such as sinusitis, otitis, tonsillitis and even pneumonia.

However, one of the most common problems is a blocked nose, which can be triggered by many reasons such as allergic rhinitis, pollution, perfumes, temperature changes and in some cases even a deviated septum. That's why it's important to take some precautions.

As well as decongesting the nose and cleansing the mucosa, the procedure, when carried out daily, helps to prevent airway diseases. This is because cleaning the nostrils helps to eliminate impurities and any other agents that may be adhered to the nasal mucosa.

In order to properly sanitize and ensure hydration, it is recommended to use a nasal solution based on Sodium HyaluronateIt is an active ingredient that keeps the mucous membrane hydrated and ensures that the nose performs its functions of filtering the air you breathe. It is recommended that you perform this process an average of three times per nostril, which may vary depending on your nose-cleaning routine and the climate in the region where you live. When necessary, blow your nose to eliminate the secretions already fluidized by the solution. And don't forget to breathe through your mouth when cleaning!

In addition, combining nasal hydration with other habits can make your routine more enjoyable, check out some tips we've put together:
