Biolab carries out more than 300 preventive examinations during Blue November
As part of its care for its employees, Biolab Farmacêutica carried out the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test at all its units. In São Paulo, the company had a partnership with Labi Saúde; at its Pouso Alegre (MG) unit, the action was carried out with the support of Unimed Sul Mineira. In all, more than 300 tests were carried out in support of the Blue November campaign, known worldwide for raising awareness of prostate cancer.
According to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), there are 71,000 cases a year, and this is the second most common type of cancer among men, behind skin cancer. Early detection is essential for a rapid diagnosis and efficient treatment. In this case, the PSA blood test is an important tool, as it detects the presence of a protein produced by the prostate which, when found in large quantities, should be investigated because it is potentially related to the development of the disease.
The initiative is in line with Biolab Farmacêutica's People & Management model, which puts human beings at the center of decisions and prioritizes actions that guarantee quality of life, safety and appreciation.
