Biolab Pharmaceuticals to offer 900 more jobs by the end of 2024 in Pouso Alegre
The pharmaceutical company Biolab will offer 900 more jobs by the end of 2024 in Pouso Alegre. The company intends to start the actual production of medicines at the unit in the second half of next year.
According to Biolab, the storage and distribution centers and quality activities are currently in operation, employing 550 people and generating more than 1,000 indirect jobs. The Pouso Alegre plant occupies a total area of 80,000 m² and has an investment of R$ 1 billion for its installation.
According to the company, when completed, the complex will have 900 workers, as well as another 2,000 indirect jobs. "The new industrial complex is a major milestone for Biolab and for the city of Pouso Alegre. In addition to expanding the company's production capacity, the site contributes to strengthening the municipality by creating jobs, boosting local trade and raising taxes," says Lucas Cohin, Biolab's Operations Executive.
As part of Biolab's expansion and internationalization plan, the industrial complex will be certified as a green factory, in addition to following international standards such as those of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and EMA (European Medicines Agency).
