Partnership between Biolab and UNIVÁS brings young pharmacy students closer to the job market

Valuing academic knowledge is one of the pillars of Biolab Farmacêutica, which believes that these are the professionals who will contribute to the future of healthcare. It is with this in mind that we are supporting the 18th Jornada Universitária Farmacêutica - JUFAR, at the Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí (UNIVÁS), an institution that is celebrating 20 years of its Pharmacy course and is a benchmark in Pouso Alegre (MG) and the southern region of Minas Gerais. Biolab's Vice President of Innovation and Quality, Marco Aurélio da Silva, spoke about "Career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry". Biolab's DHO Executive Manager, Renata Acquaviva, gave an institutional presentation of Biolab and its business units.

"Biolab has always believed in partnerships with academia and in the potential of the UNIVÁS Pharmacy course. It was very gratifying to share the various opportunities for working with these future professionals and we are counting on these pharmacy students to expand our production activity in the city of Pouso Alegre," Marco Aurélio said.

Pouso Alegre is an important national pharmaceutical hub, which contributes to the socio-economic development of the region. Biolab is building its modern industrial complex with a built-up area of 80,000 m², which will greatly expand the company's current production capacity.

"We believe that Biolab's growth is only possible with trained professionals. As an employer, it's in our interest to encourage and support Pharmacy courses to be constantly updated and, above all, to go through the different fronts that the profession can offer. Adaptability to the market is a skill that we value highly in our business," added Renata.

The course, created in 2003, was encouraged by João Marques, a renowned professional who played an important role in the history of the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry and the father of Cleiton de Castro Marques and Paulo de Castro Marques, CEO and COO of Biolab, respectively.

"This is an important moment for the Pharmacy course at UNIVÁS, because we have a heated market in the south of Minas Gerais that gives our students the chance to develop based on the learning they've had here. On behalf of the institution, I would like to thank Biolab for its support, which believes in our work to train qualified professionals and encourages academic knowledge to strengthen the health sector," thanked Professor Pythagoras de Alencar Olivoti, head of the university's Pharmacy course.
